Earlier this month, I celebrated 20 years doing the midday show here at MGK. I've seen a lot of people come and go here and I'm grateful to have worked with all of them. I'm grateful to Greater Media for being such an incredible company to work for and I'm grateful, most of all, to the Philadelphia listeners who continue to live and love their Classic Rock!

I've worked with T. Morgan for all these years at MGK. In fact, he and I go even further back to the YSP days. T is currently writing a book about his rock and roll radio experience and it will be a fun read, for sure.  He brought his new video camera into the studio along with the MGK staff to wish me a Happy Anniversary and has posted a few clips on his website. You can view it here.

We started with the band America in 2001 and ever since, MGK has been rockin’ into the 4th of July holiday with the best in classic rock. Over the years, we’ve had Peter Frampton, Cheap Trick, Paul Rodgers (Bad Company), Heart, Pat Benatar and SO many others to help us celebrate and it’s yet another star studded lineup this year. With Don Felder, Styx and Foreigner, get ready to sing and dance along to hit after hit after hit!

Thursday, July 3 we’ll get the party started along the riverfront. The music begins at the pre-party held at Wiggins Park from 2-5PM with MGK DJ Andre Gardner’s live broadcast and live music from former MGK Houseband The Sofa Kings. This part of the day is a free, family friendly event and a great way to get going before the main festivities begin next door at The Susquehanna Bank ...

Robert Gordon, he of the big hair and big voice, comes to Philadelphia on Thursday June 26 to play a rare and intimate show at The Tin Angel. His new CD I’M COMING HOME will be released on the locally based (Lancaster, Pa.) Lanark Records just days prior to his area appearance.

RG (as his friends call him) has had a knack for joining up with great guitarists throughout his career.  From his days with Link Wray and later Danny Gatton, to his recent work with Marshall Crenshaw and current guitarist and record co-producer Quentin Jones, Robert has “always had music on his mind and in his sights.” That is evidenced in this new record, his first since 2007. I’M COMING HOME features twelve all new recordings including three originals.

Rounding out the performing band will be Kenny Aaronson on bass (Bob Dylan/John Eddie), David Uosikkinen on ...
