No holiday season is complete without a visit from The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. If you're headed to one of the shows next week, check out my StageSide blog for Main Line Today! I'll be onstage at the 8PM show for the presentation of the BIG CHECK from TSO to Toys for Tots.
(they'll be Classic Rock one day!!)
The name is Canadian slang for...well....you can figure THAT one out. Although the band has been called “the best band you’ve never heard of,” that’s not necessarily true. It’s very likely that you heard their songs “James” and “Wait” in the late 90’s. Or perhaps it was “Buy You a Ring” in a Penneys commercial. This Philadelphia based band was poised for national recognition and then the business of the record business got in the way. Jazzy, quirky, odd in an utterly endearing way. and brimming with talent and songs, Huffamoose earned their stripes with constant and often grueling touring. The excitement of landing a record contract ended when the label dropped a number of acts, among them. The rise and fall and all in between was captured in a charming documentary called HERE COMES HUFFAMOOSE, definitely worth your time.
Going to see Bob Dylan at The Academy of Music? Then read on! My StageSide blog for Main Line Today Magazine will give you an idea of what to expect!
I'm so excited to once again be part of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters event taking place at The Fuge in Warminster on Friday Nov. 14. It's a Star Wars themed night and it's a fun and food filled night for a good cause. I'm particularly thrilled that Victoria Wyeth (yes, THAT Wyeth) will be there as well. She has a very special tie to this organization: for the past 15 years, she has been a "big sis" to Sarah and it's been a relationship that has changed the lives of both of them. Listen to my chat with Victoria about her experience AND for some personal insight into her grandfather Andrew Wyeth.
This time last year, who would've believed that Christine McVie would rejoin the band permanently? Woo hoo! The first of two Philly shows is next week (with a recently added Boardwalk Hall in AC show on January 24). If you're headed to any of the shows, you'll want to read my MAIN LINE TODAY STAGESIDE blog.
