Cyndy Drue grew up outside Philadelphia in Worcester, Pa listening to the "boss jocks" on WFIL. She had a radio show at Centenary College in New Jersey, her first job at WSAN in Allentown, and eventually landed at her dream station, WMMR from 1983-1996. One of her favorite perks of the job is getting to interview the artists. But if only she hadn't turned down Bono's dinner invitation back in 1981....She loves playing all the classic rock on WMGK Saturdays 3pm-7pm. Cyndy writes a blog on wmgk.com as Event Reporter. Elton John comes to Philadelphia Wednesday night
Posted 11/26/2013 5:05:00 PM

What better way to kick off the holiday season than with an Elton John concert at the Wells Fargo Center the night before Thanksgiving.

Tickets are still available!  Will he be playing all of his hits? Well, it’s called “All the Hits Tour” so, I think we’re good!

Rolling Stone Magazine says - a state-of-the-art stage design, with a mesmerizing high-tech chandelier twinkling overhead. A digital display embedded in the semicircular, cantilevered back half of the stage changed from an image of a gently waving American flag during "Philadelphia Freedom" to somber rows of crosses on the new ode to fallen soldiers, "Oceans Away."

Debbi Calton wrote a good preview here.

Ray Koob broadcasts live at the show right here on WMGK.

Watch for my REVIEW posted here after the show. Photo of Elton John at Beacon Theater by Rebecca Taylor © 2013
