Cyndy Drue grew up outside Philadelphia in Worcester, Pa listening to the "boss jocks" on WFIL. She had a radio show at Centenary College in New Jersey, her first job at WSAN in Allentown, and eventually landed at her dream station, WMMR from 1983-1996. One of her favorite perks of the job is getting to interview the artists. But if only she hadn't turned down Bono's dinner invitation back in 1981....She loves playing all the classic rock on WMGK Saturdays 3pm-7pm. Cyndy writes a blog on wmgk.com as Event Reporter. Lyme Light Fashion Show this Saturday - I'm the DJ!
Posted 4/30/2012 10:58:00 AM

This coming Saturday, I’ll be the DJ for the Lyme Light Fashion Show, an annual fundraising and awareness event to shine a light on the impact of Lyme Disease.

Pennsylvania is #1 in the US in reported Lyme disease cases with almost 7500 cases reported for 2011.

Now in its third year, the Lyme Light Fashion Show will feature models from John Powers Modeling Agency, and others, to show off some fashions, a silent auction, raffle prizes, along with tables for medical professionals, and other stores and vendors.

Actress Amy Tiehel, with the help of her Oscar-winning sister, film producer Tammy Tiehel have put together videos to tell the stories of some of the Lyme youth models and talk about prevention. These videos will be shown for the first time anywhere at this event.

Local designer, Nicole Rae Styer, whose top I wore to the Grammy Nominees Party in February 2012 (pictured here with Weird Al Yankovich and CD Producer Steve Pullara) will be featured in the fashion show along with others.

Nicole has a shop at 1822 E Passyunk Avenue in South Philly and makes every piece by hand right here. If you’re looking for clothes made in America, look no further than Nicole Rae Styer. Her designs are fun, well-made and affordable.  See some of her work on Facebook under her name or Nicole Rae Styer Boutique.

Come to the fashion show! See prices below. The money goes to a good cause: Fighting Lyme disease. On Facebook – search MontCoLyme's Lyme Light Fashion Show.
