Donald Fagen promises that when he Michael McDonald, and Boz Scaggs hit the road next month, they'll be mixing a slew of covers into their setlists. The trio who are billing themselves as the Dukes Of September, kick off their six-week road trek off on August 19th in Danbury, Connecticut.
We asked Fagen to give us a taste as to what to expect from the Dukes over the course of the tour: "Yeah, well we have a few, y'know, a list of possible stuff. Y'know Boz has a Chuck Berry thing he wants to do, and we're thinking about doing maybe a Band melody -- some of the things the Band used to do, maybe each of us singing one tune from their repertoire. And some blues, some y'know, Stax-like material."
The "Dukes" will be incorporating their best-loved tracks from their work with Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, and on their own into the nightly setlists.
