New Bowie Doc Hitting Select Theaters September 23rd

"David Bowie is," a documentary about the acclaimed exhibition put together for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, will be screening at 100 U.S. movie theaters on September 23 -- the same day the exhibition opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.

In the film, curators Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh talk about assembling the costumes, videos, photographs, hand-written lyrics and other items in the exhibition, along with commentary from Japanese fashion designer Kansai Yamamoto, singer Jarvis Cocker of the band Pulp about Bowie's achievements and influence.

"David Bowie is" was premiered on the closing night of the V&A exhibition in London; the exhibition has already travelled to Toronto, Berlin and Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be in Chicago until January 4.
