Daltrey Talks Keith Moon Biopic

LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 08: Roger Daltry performs at 'Tim Rice - A Life In Song' at the Royal Festival Hall on July 8, 2014 in London, England.
Recently, Roger Daltrey took part in a Reddit AMA where fans launched a multitude of questions at the legendary singer, and there was one question regarding the forever in-the-works Keith Moon biopic that garnered a very lengthy answer.

While Daltrey didn’t give an estimated premier date, he expressed that 15 years ago, he had a script that he shopped around, sold to a production company, but nothing came of it.  He apparently has been waiting a number of years to buy back his original script in hopes of getting the project up and running.

“...Biopics are generally run of the mill and boring,” said Daltrey.  “It would be absolutely criminal to make a film about Keith that was ever run of the mill and boring.”

Couldn’t agree with you more, Roger!

A number of people have been linked to the film, including Mike Myers at one point, but I’m still hoping Jason Schwartman wins the role of Moon.  He’s an incredible character actor, and I doubt you’re going to find anyone who resembles Moon more.  It’s kind of scary!
