Steve Walsh is not in Kansas anymore -- or at least won't be in less than two months.
The singer-keyboardist and Kansas co-founder is leaving the band for a second time, according to a note on Kansas' Facebook page saying Walsh told the other members on June 30 that he was "resigning from the band."
Walsh's final show with Kansas will be on August 16 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, Iowa, and the message concludes, "As Kansas continues on, the band wishes Steve only the best in his future endeavors, and thanks him for the 41 years." No reason was given for Walsh's decision.
Walsh first quit Kansas in 1981, then returned in 1986. Kansas' last studio album, "Somewhere To Elsewhere," was released in 2000, while the live album "There's Know Place Like Home" came out in 2009.
Kansas has several fall shows booked, so a replacement will presumably be in place by then.
