Online Campaign Seeking Knighthood For Ozzy Osbourne

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - MAY 18: Singer Ozzy Osbourne performs at An Evening With Women benefiting The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 18, 2013 in Beverly Hills, California.
Will we be calling him “Sir Ozzy” soon?

That’s what one Facebook campaign is trying to make happen.  Appropriately titled “The Knighthood of Ozz,” the Facebook group, led by Admin Helen Maidiotis, has gathered 4,000 out of the 5,000 signatures necessary for David Spooner, the Honours and Appointments Secretariat of the U.K.’s Cabinet Office, to consider knighting Ozzy Osbourne.

In an interview with the Birmingham Mail, Maidiotis said, “Our campaign has reached Buckingham Palace, as a friend of mine had sent off letters explaining about our battle for Ozzy’s knighthood - and they have replied positively.”

If Ozzy were to be knighted, he would join the knighthood ranks of Paul McCartney, Elton John and Mick Jagger.
