UPDATE [4/28/2014 8:00 pm EST]: In a statement sent by her lawyer to CNN.com, Edie Brickell said, "I got my feelings hurt and I picked a fight with my husband. The police called it disorderly. Thank God it's orderly now."
UPDATE [4/28/2014 1:30 pm EST]: Paul Simon and Edie Brickell appeared in Norwalk Superior Court this afternoon to address whether a protective order needed to be issued against Simon or Brickell following their domestic dispute.
According to NCAdvertiser.com, Simon and Brickell told Judge William Wenzel that an order wasn’t necessary, with Simon stating “The both of us are fine together. We are going to go back home and watch our son play baseball. We had an argument. It was very atypical of us.”
Well, I don’t know about you, but that is going to be one awkward baseball game. It’ll give “Sounds of Silence” a whole new meaning.
UPDATE [4/28/2014 12:12 pm EST]: According to local news outlet NCAdvertiser.com, New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski stated in a press release, “On Saturday, April 26, 2014, at approximately 8:20 pm, New Canaan officers responded to a location in New Canaan to investigate a Family Dispute.” The police response was the result of hangup call to 911 from Simon and Brickell's home.
Shocking news out of Connecticut as reports are surfacing that Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell have been arrested on disorderly conduct charges.
Per NBCConnecticut.com, Simon and Brickell were arrested Saturday night by New Canaan Police following a dispute at their home. A news release will be issued by New Canaan Police at some point today (April 28), but so far no additional information pertaining to the incident and arrest has been released to the press.
