Deep Purple Guest Star On Atlantica

Deep Purple are coming to a TV screen near you -- if you live in Israel, at least.

While in Tel Aviv to perform a pair of concerts over the weekend the group filmed a guest spot on "Atlantica," a show about a fledgling Jerusalem-based rock band that's managed by a high school history teacher played by Tal Friedman.

In this episode the group stalks Deep Purple, which is one of its favorite bands, and tries to convince the Purple gang to join them on stage.

Frontman Ian Gillan and bassist Roger Glover reportedly have speaking parts for the episode. "Atlantica" is expected to debut later this year and is hoping for pickup outside of the Holy Land.

Deep Purple, meanwhile, is off the road until a June 21 spot on the Hellfest festival in France.
