Bon Jovi was the big winner at the 2013 Billboard Touring Awards on Thursday night (November 14) in New York, taking home four trophies from the ceremony.
The New Jersey group's Because We Can World Tour took home honors for Top Tour (gross ticket sales), Top Draw (number of tickets) and Top Manager for Bon Jovi Management, as well as the Eventful Fans' Choice Award from a poll conducted by Eventful.com.
In a pre-recorded video, Jon Bon Jovi told the audience that, “This is our 30th year in the business, and to still have Number One tours and Number One albums is a real treat and a blessing. Thanks for all your support.”
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Bon Jovi told us that the group's success has been much more than he ever imagined would happen when he started making music:
“You were goal-oriented and you were a kid and you were living in and of the moment, and at 21 all I cared about was the first record and at 25 you were caught up in, you were blessed with the opportunity to have 'Slippery When Wet'...And what I did say when I was 25, thank God -- and I can stand up and tell you, 'Look it came true' -- was, look, I didn't want to be 50 painting 'bitch' on my belly and painting my fingernails black. And fortunately it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, because it didn't.”
The Rolling Stones were also winners on Thursday, taking home the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award for its 50 & Counting Tour.
