Andre Gardner went into Doors mode and played about an hour's worth of great songs like Light my Fire, Break on Through (to the other side) and fittingly finished with The End to close out his tribute.
I dug out my interview I did with Manzarek in 2007 when he played the Keswick with Robbie Krieger as Riders on the Storm. John DeBella also interviewed the keyboardist and will feature that on his show tomorrow (Tuesday).

It’s so highly stylized, it’s a wonder just to watch it - and in 3D no less! It is filmmaking at its finest. And one of the most compelling parts about it is the music. Although the story is set in the Roaring Twenties the music interspersed atmospherically throughout is by contemporary artists: Jay Z, Florence and the Machine, and most notably, Lana Del Rey. Her stunning “Young and Beautiful” will be released for the first time on the film’s soundtrack (May 7th) and is the single. For me, it was the most moving part of the film.
“Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful?” the haunting lyrics beckon. ”Will you still love me when I got nothing but an aching soul?”

It has to do with the new ways we communicate; texting, internet, online chats, that connect us to people in seemingly intimate ways yet are so different from real, in-person communication.
The story line also deals with how our behavior directly results in consequences.
Jason Bateman and Hope Davis star. It’s not a feel-good film but the message is important especially in this day and age, and might make you think twice about your online activity.

The Place Behind the Pines
Our local star, Bradley Cooper plays a rookie-cop and stars in the second half of the film; Ryan Gosling the first. It’s dark - and worth seeing.

See the video here
Everybody was on their feet as the video played showing images of the bombing at the Boston Marathon along with signs like "Keep on Running Boston" and ended with the words BOSTON STRONG.
Philly favorite Lauren Hart sang "God Bless America" before the game and dedicated it to all those affected by the tragic events in Boston.

At the end of the show, John DeBella presented the service agency with a check for $15,000. If you were in the audience last night, we thank you for your donation. Our listeners are the best!
