Tony Harris Weekends

Hello and thank you for visiting my page. Check me out 8AM-11AM every Saturday morning or during the week when John, Debbi, Andre, or Koob want some time off. Drop me an email anytime to Tony@WMGK.com for requests during my time especially if you have a birthday, anniversary or special event planned (i.e. house party). Please send your name and town on your e-mail because I won’t recite e-mail addresses on the air (include your age for our “stats keepers”). We have a great lineup of quality classic theme weekends and events planned for you so don’t miss a minute. Plus we also like to feather your nest with FAT PRIZES like tickets to our upcoming concert events, meet and greets with the artists, contests, and fantastic trips… IT’S ALL HAPPENING RIGHT HERE AT PHILADELPHIA’S CLASSIC ROCK 102.9 MGK!!! Thank you for listening.

Funeral Services for a Philadelphia Radio Legend

I am sad to report the passing of Philadelphia Radio Legend Jim Nettleton who lost his battle with cancer over the weekend. Jim’s voice & talent was consistently heard on the airwaves here for 45+ years, most notably as one of the original “Boss Jocks” on WFIL, then on WCAU, WOGL and finally in Philly on our sister station 950 WPEN. I worked with him during my 14 year tour at WOGL and then as the interim Program Director for WPEN and was fortunate to have a hand in bringing him to Oldies 950.

Always the “gentleman professional” Jim was the best off the air as he was on the air...always positive, always ready to work at achieving the best. When you have an opportunity to work with a guy like Jim, you learn many things. I would like to think that some of what he had naturally and instinctively would have stuck with me. Maybe one day, that knowledge and those qualities could be passed along by me…what a great legacy.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at the Alloway Funeral Home in Merchantville, New Jersey. Jim will be sadly missed by the entire Greater Media family.

I miss him already. Oh, did I happen to mention he was a “real, good guy”.

Thank you, Jim.
