PHILADELPHIA, PA May 5, 2009 –The 2009 Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic will be dedicated to the memory of the late Harry Kalas. Kalas, Legacy of Excellence Inductee in the Hall of Fame’s Charter Class in 2004, was slated to emcee the charity golf outing Monday October 12, 2009 at Huntingdon Valley Country Club.
“Harry was such a big part of every Hall of Fame event," said Ken Avallon, Hall of Fame president, “He loved the Golf Classic and we are pleased that this small gesture enables us to honor his legacy.”
A memorial dinner and tribute are included as part of the 2009 Golf Classic. The Hall of Fame staff is finalizing plans and details will be available at the Hall of Fame’s web site:
