With the crappy weather, I had no time to get out and play, and very little time to watch the pros in Charlotte this week. Tiger made it interesting, but Philly-area native Sean O’Hair won the weekend for his third PGA title. It took a Sunday round of 69 on Sean’s part, paired with a 72 from Woods to make it happen.
Back at Bayhill, where Tiger staged an amazing comeback, O’Hair was in the driver’s seat, before being part of the group that caved in to the sheer will of TW. With that loss fresh in his mind, O’Hair prevented a reprise by being the only player in the lead pack to go under 70 on the final day.
Saw Tiger’s post-tourney interview (he even gets face time when he loses), and he said he and Sean were pretty close (“We text a lot!”) and managed to get a dig in about his beloved Magic taking Sean’s Sixers out of the NBA playoffs. Even when he loses, Tiger wins…
By the way, how long before Woods becomes owner of the Magic?
Less than two weeks until Ocean City, Maryland…the players are getting antsy!!!
