GOLF? Who had time to follow golf this weekend? From the first Noon tip-off Thursday until the Sweet Sixteen was settled on Sunday night, who was thinking of golf? I did check in with the pros at Innisbrook, mainly jealous that despite being to the Tampa area regularly, I’ve never gotten to play either of their amazing courses.
Retief Goosen gets the win in a Tiger-and-Phil-free field, but there were 16 winners, really, this weekend. The teams that go to next weekend’s Sweet 16 regional finals are all winners on some level, and very few of them had an easy time of it. Of local interest is the fourth visit to this round in five years by Jay Wright’s boys. They are playing some of their best basketball right now, and since my Brackets are shot to hell (thanks, Wake Forrest!), it’s all about rooting for favorites. NOVA ALL THE WAY, BABEEEE!!!
Ok, golf. Wiz and I tried to play on Sunday morning, but frost delayed starts and sent me scrambling back to Jersey and a couple more hours of sleep.
