We received awful news on Wednesday 8/6/2008 at the radio station. Robert Hazard, who provided many nights of great Philly clubbing back in the early 80's, died of pancreatic cancer. And no one seemed to have known that he was sick. Click on "MORE" for the obituary and for a great video clip of Robert talking about "those" days! You may not recognize the name Hiram Bullock immediately, but you've heard his magnificent guitar playing. For years he was the barefoot guitarist on The David Letterman Show. He's played on Steely Dan records, Billy Joel records, Sting records and on and on. He was a rock and roll jazz guitarist and he was my friend for over 30 years. But Autism doesn't end when the month does. 1 in 150. That's the current ratio for Autism diagnoses. And it's very possible that it's even higher. What is the cause? Is there a cure? These are often debated questions but for those parents (like me!) dealing with Autism, Aspergers, PDD-NOS, NLD and a host of other aspects of the Autistic Spectrum, we need help dealing with the day to day and the future. Autism is 24/7 and 365 days a year.

I was thrilled to interview John Elder Robison who recently wrote a book called LOOK ME IN THE EYE. He is an adult diagnosed with Asperger's and as a parent of an Aspergers child, I found this book very compelling and insightful. His brother Augusten Burroughs wrote the book RUNNING WITH SCISSORS and interviewed his brother John in this clip from AMAZON.COM.
