I've been at MGK since the summer of 1994 (15 years now!) and on the radio in Philadelphia for 25 years as of August 2008. I've actually been working in radio since 1976. YIKES! That's 33 years!!!! (Obviously I started when I was just a youngster!) I've also worked on the air in Charlotte NC, Tampa and Orlando, FL., Denver, Chicago and then Philadelphia.
I've been married for 20 years (in June) to Chip Roberts, the greatest guitar player on the planet. (we met at a radio station promotion....he was in the band!)
We have one son, Dustin, who is a junior in high school and I just can't believe that!!!!
I live in Media, EVERYBODY'S HOMETOWN! (Delaware County)and we enjoy spending time in Md. in the Chesapeake Bay area (Cecil County).
Before I moved here, I lived a lot of different places. My dad was in the Air Force (he was an instrumental part in the making of the SR-71 "Blackbird")and we lived in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, California, Ohio and Turkey! I went to Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. (at the same time as World B. Free...he was Lloyd then!)I still get together with a bunch of my college girlfriends every year for our GUILFORD GIRLS GONE WILD WEEKEND.
In my spare time, (ha ha) I love to garden, I love to take art classes at the fabulous BARNES FOUNDATION (keep the Barnes where it is!!!). What better place to learn than right in front of the art? I also support the Philadelphia Art Museum. I do quite a bit of charity work for Delaware County groups (Family and Community Services of Delaware County,The Delaware County Press Club, Cure Autism Now and other Autism and Aspergers groups, Living Beyond Breast Cancer, various women's organizations and I LOVE doing events at our wonderful Media Theatre!!!!!)
I'm a major Jackson Browne fan! I also love Creedence Clearwater Revival (the first concert I ever went to!), Steely Dan and Led Zep (BIG TIME!!!)
I do not, contrary to perception, have long dark hair and am not 6 feet tall. I'm more in the 5 foot 2 range, have red hair (currently with a lot of stripes in it thanks to the wonderful Mandi at Contemporary Styles by Mena!) and as one of my listeners said: "look just like a normal mom!"
And I have the best job in the world!
