GUITAR HERO: WINGS ROCKS!
While we patiently (and I DO mean PATIENTLY) wait for both the digital release of The Beatles catalog and the upcoming "Guitar Hero"-style Beatles game to be released, it's really nice to see that Paul McCartney has made some of his solo music available on GUITAR HERO: WORLD TOUR.
Initially, "Band On The Run" was featured, and now you can purchase the "Wings Track Pack", which contains "Junior's Farm," "Hi Hi Hi" and "Jet." Not only will these be great for existing Beatles/Paul fans, but it will no doubt expose his music music to a new audience. THAT is great marketing of wonderful product.
To this end, it has stumped me that The Beatles music hasn't been available digitally yet. Of course the main reason is the almighty dollar -- the parties involved all want the biggest cut of the profit pie they can get -- but in the meantime there is a whole new audience of buyers, who have never touched a CD before, who don't currently have this incredible music on their iPods.
How much longer do we have to wait? Not even Paul McCartney knows. He's left it up to the parties involved to argue it out until a resolution is reached. While everyone argues about their cut, , I see nice profits slipping through EMI and Apple's fingers every day.
